SnowbankIH reserves the right to refuse service to anyone we choose. We reserve the right to terminate a user’s hosting at any time without prior notice.
Users must follow all relevant local and United States federal laws. Our servers are located in the (USA), and therefore the laws governing the USA apply. Local laws where you reside may also apply. It is your responsibility to conduct your website in compliance with these laws. Of particular relevance are laws pertaining to copyright infringement. Many commercial and governmental organizations zealously pursue copyright violations, often violating the law themselves or even suing and prosecuting innocent bystanders. As a result, copyright violations are a threat to the entire community, regardless of our non-involvement in the crime.
No mass mailing –period— Any accounts found to be mass mailing with be automatically suspended/locked down until a proper investigation can be performed.
Users that install any web applications, such as blogs, forums, photo-galleries, CMS software, are required to maintain all security updates for said applications as the updates become available unless the user has reached an agreement with us for maintenance of said software.
Using programs that interfere with others’ use, or running an IRC robot, on any IRC server is prohibited.
SnowbankIH does not issue service credits for any outages incurred through service disablement resulting from Policy violations. Nor do we generally issue service credits for minor outages due to problems with the servers or upstream connectivity issues. However this is a general statement and each situation is evaluated on an individual basis.
The following types of web sites / services are not allowed:
• Any type of pornographic materials.
• Any type of torrent download trackers or services. Torrent files for specific legitimate downloads e.g. Linux distributions or non copyrighted materials can be offered however Tracker services are not allowed at all.
• Warez, exploit and “security” related software are not allowed. And by security software we are referencing password crackers and other “script kiddie” tools.
Last but not least. All activity may be monitored. Our computer systems, including all related equipment, networks, and network devices (specifically including internet access) are provided for our customer’s use. SnowbankIH computer systems may be monitored for all lawful purposes, including to ensure that their use is authorized, for management of the system, to facilitate protection against unauthorized access, and to verify security procedures, survivability, and operational security. Monitoring includes active attacks by authorized SnowbankIH entities to test or verify the security of this system. During monitoring, information may be examined, recorded, copied, and used for authorized purposes. All information, including personal information, placed or sent over this system may be monitored. Use of this SnowbankIH computer system, authorized or unauthorized, constitutes consent to monitoring of this system. Unauthorized use may subject you to criminal prosecution. Evidence of unauthorized use collected during monitoring may be used for administrative, criminal, or other adverse action. Use of this system constitutes consent to monitoring for these purposes. We will generally cooperate with any US law enforcement agency that contact us regarding customers.
Your information is never sold or shared to any 3rd party for any other reason other than legitimate law enforcement purposes. We make exhaustive efforts to protect our customer’s confidential information from 3rd parties and consider it a top priority. This is our work, this is what pays our bills and feeds our children. And we treat it and you the customer accordingly. We don’t come into your house and break the law. Don’t break it in ours.
